Finally I have some news from Tom...settle in because there is a lot to take in
First of all he apologizes for the late reply to our birthday greetings: "Your birthday wishes are very special. And I am very sorry for not acknowledging them at the time. I do very much appreciate them. Even though it doesn't appear that way."
New projects (some of which we already know about):
Mission impossible 5 with Tom Cruise. Tom plays the British Prime Minister. Directed by Chris Maquarrie who wrote Valkyrie and The Usual Suspects. This info is not even on IMDb yet so consider it a scoop!
Tulip Fever. Harvey Weinstein prod. Not sure when they are releasing it. Tom plays Dr Sorgh. If you have not read this book, do. It is very good.
Jungle Book Origins . Dir. Andy Serkis. Playing Tabaqui the hyena next to sheer Khan ( Benedict Cumberbatch). Not sure when Warners are releasing it.
Two new radio plays: Decline and Fall by Evelyn Waugh. Tom plays Otto the Architect. The Dark Side of the Moore. A play about the English astronomer Patrick Moore. Tom plays Patrick Moore. Coming soon to BBC Radio 4
Tom has also been co-writing a screenplay and hopes to go into production with a script later this year, but it's too early to know.

I am sorry to be late replying to this Daria. We have been so busy and this place has been so quiet lately that I have shamefully neglected it. I do hope you and everyone here had a wonderful Christmas. Beautiful video too! Thank you for sharing it.
Deb xoxo

Anyone in London area interested in going to a Q&A about 'A Poet in New York"? TICKETS: £8 A screening of ‘A Poet in New York’, a “lyrical, and very, very funny” (Telegraph) film about Dylan’s last days; followed by an exclusive Q&A session with BAFTA-Award Nominee Tom Hollander, and multi-award winning screenwriter Andrew Davies. [Having seen it my own take on it is that it is touching, poignant and humorous in parts but mostly just a really good film...not so much "very, very funny" though] Tickets available here: Tickets

Hi Isabella! Sorry to be so late in welcoming you. I have been a bit busy lately and not had a chance to pop over here to see what's happening. Anyway, we are glad to have you join our little community. It has been a bit quiet here but that doesn't usually last long. Have a look around and get to know the regulars. This is a good group with devoted fans. Thanks again for joining and introducing yourself. Lots of people lurk and never come out of hiding so yay for you! We don't bite. Deb x

Thanks for posting this Adrienne! I'd seen the article but not this video! This place is very dear to Tom. His niece goes there. I'm sure a lot of the money that they raised to do this fantastic renovation was from the "Childish Things" shows that they put on (which Tom started) over the past 10 years. Good stuff for a good cause!

According to my alert and lovely friend Rie in London Tom will be on BBC Radio 4 Extra on 25th Monday at 10am and 26th Tuesday. It's Jane Austen's Emma. This will most likely be on iPlayer for awhile as well. Just a reminder that anyone can listen to BBC Radio no matter where you live.
I have heard this one and it is good, of course.

Oh yes Sheryl. I finished it in two days. It is really good! Fortunately I got it for free on Paperback Book Swap. If you read it, Tom plays Dr Sorgh. Lol. And even if you don't read it he plays Dr. Sorgh. Judi Dench is in it too.

I see they have made it harder to find Private Messages here. Grr. If you look up in the top right corner of the posts you will see Quote, A thumb and a gear with an arrow. Click the arrow and then select "Member" and send message. Make sure you are on the right person though. I will send you a message to get you started and then you can just reply. You will find your messages in the top menu bar under the banner with the picture of Tom.
Good luck and thank you for joining in on the TBP this year. As I said, Tom loves this and we have been sending him birthday greetings in one for or another for seven years now. Deb

Hello and welcome! Sorry for the delayed greeting. Some people have had trouble logging in here and I hope that is not the reason for it being so quiet here. Tom has been so busy lately so it surprises me that there is not more discussion here. That said, we are planning our usual birthday messages for him again and hope all of you will participate. An email will go out in the next few days to fall everyone. Basically, everyone who wants to wish Tom a happy birthday on August 25th sends me their message (you can include a photo or some sort of graphic if you so desire) and I gather them all up on a special (hidden from the public) page on Thomagination and send him the link to it. He has commented in the past to me that this always makes his birthday special, so I know it is important. The messages can me put up here in a PM, or you can email them to me by requesting my email in a PM. Or if you are on Facebook you can PM me there (https://www.facebook.com/deborah.olliff?ref=tn_tnmn) and put TBP 2014 (Tom's Birthday Project) in the header. Here is last year's collection for an idea of what we do... www.thomagination.com/Happy_Birthday_2013.htmAgain, Welcome! Deb x

I have seen several people out and about over the years that reminded me of Tom. I think the craziest was the guy in Costco several years ago. He looked so much like him I felt compelled to sneakily follow him.

In addition to filming Tulip Fever, Tom is simultaneously filming the TV pilot for "Knifeman" with Daniel Mays for AMC. Based on a true story, Tom plays Dr. John Hunter. Set in 18th century London, Knifeman will focus on the untold story of a charming, arrogant, decorum-breaking genius who challenges societal norms to transform his visions into cutting-edge discoveries.

Tom is currently filming Tulip Fever. He plays Dr. Sorgh if you have read the book (which is excellent) written by Deborah Moggach who did the screenplay for Pride & Prejudice.
