I had a chance to see it a few weeks ago as it came to our film festival before it was released. Unfortunately it was sold out. I keep looking but we have the disadvantage of living on a small island. I hope to see it at some point, even if I have to just wait for the DVD. It looks wonderful and I know Jo saw it and agreed.

How cool that it will open on your birthday, Elizabeth! We are thinking about coming but not sure when. Would love to see Tom again and we were unable to make it to London for Travesties when it was there.

You may have noticed that there are lots of gray boxes where photos should be. Apparently Photobucket now wants users to pay for third party hosting. I am sorry that we have to deal with this. Until we figure out something different we will just have to live with it. Irene (redwine) our main admin can explain this better than I can. Just wanted to let you all know what it was about. She said that they wanted something like $400 to make this work. Not happening. I call this highway robbery.

Since I am having issues with the server for Thomagination at the moment I am unable to update with this new film that Tom is in. So, I thought I better at least get it up here. He plays twin brothers to Claire Foy's leading lady, Diana Cavendish. There are loads of great actors in this film and it looks really good. Here is the Breathe trailer: www.imdb.com/title/tt5716464/?ref_=nv_sr_2 This film is opening the London Film Festival in October, which makes it even more exciting! I have a feeling that we will need tissues, or better yet, a crying towel for this one!

Thank you Marie and Redwine. We are looking into it. It is a problem with the server. Hang tight. Thomagination DOES still exist and we'll be back as soon as possible. We have contacted the host and put in a service ticket. Thanks for your alertness!

Thanks for posting this jobrodie! I have to admit that we have been a bit lax in posting here lately. For a long time there was no news and it seemed pretty dead quiet here. I have been super busy so have had no time to get over here. I hope all are well here. Don't forget that we will finally get to see Tulip Fever soon. Mid July, I believe. If you don't see news here be sure to check the website, as I keep that more up-to-date these days. www.thomagination.com

*Hides under desk because she has no idea who or what Unikitty is... * BUT...I am sure it will be good. Tom love period drama stuff. I can't help but wonder if this was the thing he has been co-writing all these months. I will ask but I doubt he will reply. *dashs off to investigate Unikitty...*

Tom Hollander revs up for Doctor ThorneThe Rev star will take the lead role in Julian Fellowes’ small-screen adaptation of Anthony Trollope’s novel. Tom Hollander is to swap his vicar’s dog collar for a stethoscope in Doctor Thorne, the new period drama from Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes. The 48-year-old actor, best known for playing inner city clergyman Reverend Adam Smallbone in the BBC sitcom Rev, will portray Dr Thomas Thorne ITV’s new show, which has been adapted from Anthony Trollope’s novel of the same name. Doctor Thorne lives in the village of Greshamsbury in Barsetshire, with his penniless niece Mary (Stefanie Martini), and problems arise when she falls in love with Frank Gresham (Harry Richardson), the only son of the local squire. Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas also has a role in the drama. The 26-year-old, who was Harry’s last serious relationship until they split in April 2014, made her screen debut in 2009 with a small role in the TV series Trinity, where she played a cheerleader. She will play Mary’s friend and confidante. Cressida, who has appeared on stage and will star in Justin Chadwick’s drama Tulip Fever alongside Dane DeHaan, Christoph Waltz and Dame Judi Dench, joins the star-studded cast, which also includes Ian McShane. The Thick Of It’s Rebecca Front, Scottish actor Richard McCabe and Phoebe Nicholls have also signed on for roles in Doctor Thorne, alongside American actress Alison Brie, who starred in Mad Men and Community. Julian said: “Doctor Thorne is a wonderful example of Trollope’s gift for understanding the tangles we humans get into. “He is sharply observant, critical and merciful in equal measure and, above all, highly entertaining. With the cast we have assembled, I am confident we can bring all of these qualities to the screen.” Filming on the three-part drama, directed by Niall McCormick, begins later this month. tv.bt.com/tv/tv-news/tom-hollander-revs-up-for-doctor-thorne-11364004375081

Hi everyone,
It has been so quiet here for so long that I thought I better come and make this announcement. I will not be doing our usual birthday greeting project this year. I have been way too busy and it is hard to get everyone involved. I will, however, email Tom on his birthday and wish him a Happy Birthday from all of us. That will have to suffice this year.
Hopefully things will pick up here some day.
Thanks for your understanding and support! Deb xoxo

I still need to listen myself. I agree about the radio being almost better than TV.

This is still available to listen to on iPlayer. Tom doesn't show up until episode 2. He did mention to me that Evelyn Waugh is one of his favorite authors www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05rl3w4Decline and Fall A real gem in the canon of British comic fiction. Evelyn's Waugh's fast paced roller-coaster, dramatised by Jeremy Front, is peopled by larger than life characters and a few grotesques. Paul Pennyfeather, a quiet, earnest, scholarly young student at Oxford knows nothing of 1920's high-life until one night he encounters The Bollinger Club ... Produced by Marion Nancarrow and Directed by Tracey Neale Set in the early jazz age, the tone of Decline and Fall is Wodehousian with added sex, drugs and alcohol. The central character is Paul Pennyfeather, played by Oxford graduate and young emerging comedian, Kieran Hodgson. Paul is an innocent but nevertheless the engine of the piece. The fuse is lit in Oxford after which the plot moves us quickly to London then out to a tenth rate school in rural Wales where we meet the Headmaster, Dr Fagan and two fellow teachers, Grimes and Prendergast played by comedy stars - Geoffrey Whitehead, John Sessions and James Fleet. From here we are taken to a glass and steel fantasy of excessive modern architecture in the middle of the English countryside, the home of the beautiful Margot, stylishly played by Emilia Fox, designed by the eccentric Otto, a cameo played with relish by Tom Hollander in Episode Two. Paul's travels then take him to hot, sweaty Marseille and into trouble which results in him ending up in a British prison. Paul's adventures end in a rather Alice in Wonderland fashion when he is given a new identity and returns to Oxford, exactly where he started, but with the addition of a beard. Decline and Fall is dramatised by Jeremy Front. Jeremy won the Best Dramatisation in the 2014 Drama Audio Awards for Evelyn Waugh's Sword of Honour. His wonderfully comic touch has been evident in his most recent work for Radio 4 - Charles Paris and Incredible Women.
