It is Tom´s Birthday today and no activity here! I celebrated it with my girlfriend Eve last night. I often talk about Tom and she didn´t know him so that she wanted to get to know him, to watch some his film. She brought an italian wine from her holiday and I switched on A Good Year. We drank out two bottles. We had a good time but I didn´t acquire new Tom´s fan in her. She sometimes confused Tom and Russel even (it was by this wine maybe:) But we drank to him cheers before midnight. And I had a hang-over from that today. Eve not, she is trained.

That is very sweet that you celebrated together! I wonder how Tom is celebrating... I hope he is relaxing and having a good day. As for your friend becoming a new fan, perhaps she needs to see him in some other films to see how versatile he is.

That's really lovely - celebrating Tom's birthday watching one of his films but I think after two bottles of wine it's understandable that your friend was getting confused

I also think but I have my favourite Tom´s films in original only and she cannot English anyhow. I have just the films with a dubbing/subtitles, where Tom have too little elbowroom. Also Enigma and Valkyria but she does not like the war movies I will watch The Pirates with her next time. She saw the first part only just without Tom and she liked it. It could be possibility to pique her interest.

But... be patient - you can get a result a little bit later (this is from my own expierence and I know some people on Hollanderia who got the same result). I wish that the formula "Watch POTC2 -> start to be a little bit interested in Tom -> get more excited about him -> and to be Tom's fan finally" will work out for your friend asap! ;D

I must write/call to her about it but I am not sure he has this programme I suppose she has not a cable TV. She will watch it later at worst, when she will have a time to visit me. My own interest in Tom started Cambridge Spies. I liked Toby Stephens first (I still like him) but in this series Tom effaced all the others and I fell in love
