Thanks for sharing this Ange! I just love Griff. He seems like the nicest man. I have enjoyed watching some of his programmes such as the Rivers series and the very funny Three Men Go to Ireland. I would love to see him in Oliver! Make sure you check out this little teaser for it (imagine young Tom in the role of Oliver! when he was at Dragon School)...sigh. www.oliverthemusical.com/

He's been a favourite since Not the Nine O'Clock News back in the 80's. Restoration is also a very good set series he did about taking delapidated historic buildings and getting people to vote for which they would like to be restored for the nation. Being a bit of an architecture nut, it was right up my street! Saw the Three Men go to Ireland over xmas, and before that they did Three Men in a Boat, on the Thames, wich was also very amusing. I've been watching Dara and Rory for years too, Mock the Week, Have I got New for You and QI are worth a look if you get them over there.
I watched the BBC programme with Andrew Lloyd-Webber where the pannel and the public chose the current Nancy, Jodie Prenger...and they also chose several boys to play Oliver, but I didn't know about Tom back then...

I found out about when I read Julia's book. She wrote about being in the audience and—(I think probably age 10 or 11— him sitting on the steps singing "Where is Love". Positively angelic. I later wrote to Dragon school to get more info but they are very "closed" (says Darren) about it because of strict privacy laws but they did verify that he was in it and that they all remember him. : ) I think we can say that it is the earliest "stage" record we know of so far.
