I thought I would start this now since I found the author's website and I am looking forward to this with great excitement. Here is an excerpt from The Lieutenant. Huge sigh of ecstasy and anticipation for February.

I have been very tempted to buy this book, as it is already in our book shops...but at a very hefty price of $45...so i have been popping in and out of the book store next to where i work every now and then and read a little...The girls there know me and are fine with it...LOL...Its a great book...I have ordered one from Amazon uk with my audiobooks... Its surprisingly cheaper to wait and get it from there then from here...
I noticed that you said you have cityboy already Deb....It hasnt been released here yet ...but i have one coming with the others..Hhaha..can't wait!...I actually can't decide on which one im more excited to receive...
Thanks for the link Deb!

The Lieutenant arrived today! I have just finished listening to disk 1 of 4. What can I say? It is all I expected and more. Sigh.

(as LB once uttered) Someone has heard it besides me and Dani! Did I not say it was wonderful? Thank you! Just noticed that I didn't spell it correctly in the Subject line. Fixed it in the first one but not going to go through all of these! Blame it on the Tomification Syndrome.

It's next on my list I promise! I am thoroughly enjoying Courtesan though. The dulcet tones of Bucino echoing in my ears each morning: what a way to start the day! And I definitely just pretend Bill Nighy is doing Aretino. Two awesome dudes prancing around in my head for the price of one!

You probably say it as written as opposed to "leftenant" too! It's very good isn't it Sara, you can almost smell Venice!

You probably say it as written as opposed to "leftenant" too! Hahaha. That depends entirely upon whom I am talking to. Bit confusing though. It is a funny word no matter how you look at it. I had no idea it was pronounced "leftenant" until I heard Beckett say it that way in Dead Man's Chest. I went to look it up and saw that there are indeed two ways that are considered correct.

You have both made me want to listen to it again now. lol. mind you I've already listened to it about 20 times through....lol (Deb im sure you have also..lol). It's definitely one of my favourites. Right up there with ITCOTC, actually maybe more because it holds a bit of personal meaning for me. Tom speaking our Indigenous language......he's so fantastic!

Dani: I have to laugh every time I hear the word "bogle" because Amanda who is our receptionist at work recently got married and that is her new last name. Sometimes I call her "Mrs Bogle". Most people can't remember what her new name is but *I* can. Hahaha. The best part of it is that she doesn't know it means "mouse." Maybe some day I will tell her.

What a great way to learn English. Or anything for that matter. I was going to say that it might be a way I could learn to actually understand math. I hate math btw. But when I think about it I would not be able to concentrate if he was teaching it. Like the time my parents brought in the very adorable son of their French friends to tutor me in high school French. C'est désastre. LOL.

And we all know what THAT reminds us of...Charlie in "A Good Year" Eau de French girl. Cold shower. Oohh la la. Might be time to watch that again. Funny how these threads go off on tangents...
