Big new comedy film centres on Northampton MP (Northampton Chronicle & Echo - 7 May 2008) www.northamptonchron.co.uk/news/Big-new-comedy-film-centres.4050376.jp"Simon Foster will be played by Tom Hollander, who appeared with Cate Blanchett in Elizabeth: The Golden Age and Johnny Depp in Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End. The plot has Mr Foster appearing on prime time television and mistakenly backing military action, then spending the rest of the film trying to stop it, with the help of a US General Miller, played by Mr Gandolfini. At the same time his advisor, Judy – played by Gina McKee of The Street and Atonement – is dealing with voters who have blocked drains and a man who is angry about a collapsing wall; Steve Coogan."

Oh thank you! That was WONDERFUL! Can't wait. I wonder if it will be released in the US at the same time or if we will have to wait...or (heaven forbid) if we will only be able to see it on DVD.

Fantastic article. I remember seeing Quintin Tarantino saying in an interview that most movies are shouted into existence--This certainly seems to be the case here! I love the genius that can sprout from spontinaity (I was always a big Second City fan ). I'm really looking forward to seeing this, and yes, our Tom has a huge role!

I've only just noticed this thread and I stupidly started a thread in the wrong section. Just wanted to add the BBC Press Office link.

Found this today...No talking to Tom but interesting all the same: On set of "In the Loop"Note...the link does not go directly there so you will have to type in the search area "In the Loop" then click on the one at the one that says "Sky in the Loop" on the left. Sadly they have misspelled Armando's name. Make sure you type in the red area that says: Search for more Sky News videos. Not in the top search. Revised after watching unfettered by work! Look closely and you will see Tom in the background in a tan suit walking towards a car! Sorry about the quality but I had to make it full screen to see him. Isn't this exciting? I can't wait!

That spelling mistake is pretty unforgivable. Armando is extremely well known here. I guess it was just the IT department who were not so savvy I love the way the Facebook fellas think they are harbouring a secret! If only they knew the buzz attached to this Just wanted to add the other Sky link here too - to keep it tidy. Deb, did you save the video for posterity?

I tried to capture it but my poor little computer did not have enough space and it exported the file with no sound and it was really choppy. I wish there would be a poster or something for this (and The Soloist) so I could update Thomagination! I can't find anything. It is like torture.

Hi guys - I've been away but I'm SO happy to hear the news about this up and coming movie. I can't wait for them to finish it. It sounds like the kind of movie I love and having it 'revolve around Tom's character' is just super!!!! Marty
