Personally I love when he does his French accent... "Max...I think at the moment your whole body is covered in the eau de French girl...and when you have had a cold shower things will look a little bit different." I love this scene also... and have many of you listened to the commentary of this scene on the DVD. They take about how Tom came to the set wearing that....everything is him...they said "It's perfect, leave him like that".... He has nice fashion sense...even the hat....I really like his watch too.....But it's the flip flops that do it for me.... WHAT? No Fair! My DVD (region1) has nothing like that on it! I want to see! Or is it just talking. Now that I think of it I have not watched that film with commentary! BTW...that shirt he is wearing looks like the one he is wearing in the LAX airport arrival picture under his jacket.

And just in general, you can pick up some great things about his performances and his personality when you listen to these....people are full of praise for him....(really, who isn't)

After all look what you got on The Libertine. I have watched and listened to everything on ALL my pirates DVDs and we do not have THAT. I agree though...it is fascinating to listen to commentary. You can learn so much about filming too. Why can't they make them all the same though?

Usually the menu says "commentary" I guess I missed it because of that. Why I didn't look at this is beyond me. Thanks Dani!

Why only two? Guy Burgess is definite for me. I wavered between Darren and Leon next. Leon won, but it was dilemma

I vote for Beckett and Burgess, but I like other roles too! E.g. Leon. Beckett was fabulous. His quiet threatening manner was simple magnificent. Almost too bad for potc.^^

I know this will be hard to decide, but it's going to be interesting to see the results. Have Fun! OMG! That was Hell! I chose Osborne Hamley and Nick, from Lawless Heart to tie for first, but one of my real faves is Tom's Laurie in "Hotel in Amsterdam." He was breathtaking in that. www.bbc.co.uk/bbcfour/cinema/features/hotel-amsterdam.shtml After Laurie, Maximilian II and Guy Burgess are a close 2.5 to 3.
Who I REALLY, REALLY think would be among Tom's best performances would be Voorman, in the film "The Voorman Problem" (which I believe will never get off the ground now), and, of course, Napoleon Bonaparte, for whom Tom has been my ultimate muse this last year.

I've just noticed this thread, and voted for Nick and Beckett.
If there are more choices, I'd like to vote for Adam or Monty though! Hehe. ;D

Late to the party lol but I voted for Lord Cutler Beckett and Guy Burgess but it was painful XP. Sad to see no Jonathan Peletski from Harry though
