I first saw Tom as Mr. Collins in P&P in 2005, but i didn't pay much attention to his character. Then in 2006, I saw him as Cutler Beckett. Throughout the entire film, I kept thinking he looked familiar. I also loved his eyes and his smile. So he really captured my attention there. Three or four hours after seeing the film I suddenly realized who he was. It's strange, because I didn't remember Mr. Collins at all before I suddenly saw his picture in my head. Right when I got home I popped in Pride and Prejudice and BOOM- I was an instant fan.

When did I first 'discover' Tom? First of all it was probably joining the livejournal community OBASC and having lots of people (ukelelehip ) bang on about him a lot that made me know who he was, then watching Cambridge Spies finally made me appreciate what a good actor he is. But it wasn't till a combination of POTC3 and Landscape With Weapon that I really started to like him properly!

Well, I'm new here, my name is Maria and I'm spanish. I want give thanks to Deb for give me the link of this forum that for me is the paradise.Really if Hollander was joining this forum and saw all the women who are here, I believe that he might not believe it.
The first time that I saw Hollander was in Lawless Hearts, and he was magnificent, later I saw Bedrooms and Hallways, and really I wondered if he was gay, because it was doing it so well. It left to me with the open mouth his interpretation.
I began to feel curiosity and I saw all his movies, all of one behind other one. I believe that the moment in that should spend it really badly, was in the movies, when I saw The pirates of the Caribbean 3, with the death of Lord Beckett. It was trying to suppress the tears, but I could not do it. In the end remain a Hollander´s prey and ridiculed by my friends for crying in the death of the charm Lord.
Thank you, Deb!

We are happy to have you here. As you can see I too am a fan of the "Lord". I know about public ridicule when being caught cheering on the bad guy. Hehe. You see we went to see P3 at the El Capitan theatre in Hollywood. The ultimate in Disney film viewing as they decorate the theatre to the theme of the films, and if you get VIP tickets you are escorted to you "reserved" seat along with your "free" drink and popcorn in a "collectable" souvenir plastic bucket. The also have the best in digital cinema. Well. At the end of the film when the credits roll, of course the screams ensue in various levels of decibels and I found it odd that Johnny and Orlando were tied for decibel levels...Keith almost exceeded ( I am clueless to that. But eventually on the huge black screen appears " Tom Hollander" and who screams? One lonely voice. I don't have to tell you who it was... Heck...someone has to cheer him one. He was only the best villain ever. Don and Cat were on either side of me and I think I scared them. It is not like me to do that...but it sure felt good!

The truth is that my friends when they ask me: Do you like Deep or Bloom?. And I only answer; " Hollander. I like Lord Beckett and not the cutes men of the movie ". My friends me look missed saying but if he is very low height , since you could like a boy who scarcely measures 5 ' 8!!!. The truth be that the height does not matter for me for me, he is perfect!

My first "encounter" with Tom was The Libertine. There was a scene where he was standing next to Depp and Tom smiled. My attention was immideiately diverted away from Johnny and I thought wow!!! I was enraptured and I have been living vicariously through our web-misstresses life ever since then. I've rather enjoyed being on this journey with her.

Well you know I never tire of telling the tale. Thanks for not telling me to can it. Tom is a sweetie and very humble despite his shameless self-promotion in that fabulous interview. BTW...I noticed that smile too...and I was a diehard Depp fan. Hey, I saw Libertine 7 times in the theatre and was at the premiere where Johnny came out on stage with Laurence Dunmore, John Malkovich and Samantha. The one time I wish I had sat in the front row. I still adore J but there is just something about Tommy. I found myself saying—staring at Beckett on the screen: WHY are you so enthralled with the bad guy?[/b]

Hey everyone, my name is Dani, I'm from Australia and obviously a massive Tom Hollander fan. I had seen him in many films previously and never actually took a huge notice (as bad as that sounds) until i was startled by him last year in Land of the Blind. I must admit that since being spellbound by his charm, wit and fantastic acting that i have re-watched all his movies again...many times over.
For his superb acting and good looks, Lawless heart is my favourite, but for his best characters i must say POTC, Bedrooms and Hallways and Land of the Blind are the best for me...although anything with Tom in it is great.
I'm please to find yet another great place to admire Tom and his work....yet it seems to be all the same people in each one i join. .....lol i feel like i know you all already.
keep smiling everyone,
Dani

Heya
My name is Louise...and I have been a lover of Tom for almost a year. I first really fell in love with him in the Pirates series (how can you not, Lord Cutler Beckett is a GOD).
I am from Tasmania, Australia and am at the University of Tasmania (just for some background information)
I do not have a favourite Tom movie, for they are all so good in their own ways. Sometimes it is just overwhelming the talent, charm, voice and sheer sex appeal of this man!!! I have admired him in everything I have seen him it.
I believe I am a new face (I haven't been on any other forums, despite my long term commitment to Tom)
Louise
