That is great news! I they have been getting awards left and right but this one does surprise me. In fact it even surprised *Team Loop* aka the writers who expressed as much on Twitter this morning. One can't help but wonder *who* will be winging their way to LA next month to accept should they win... I hope they are all there. Gives me a reason to watch.

Exciting news! I'm happy to hear that! Because "In The Loop" hasn't been on screen yet in Japan. It even hasn't been mentioned! What a shame! But with this nomination (and if it might win...!), it might be considered to be on screen! I really hope that will happen. (Well, I know I must not have too much hope about it. As they hadn't released "Shaun of the Dead", the best British comedy film ever! Although it has eventually been released on DVD, but not on screen. They also almost hadn't released "Hot Fuzz" either. I said "Almost" because it has been released on screen through many film lovers' effort after long delay. So, I must not hope so much, but still I can't help to hope...)

Ineko, you need to get yourself a region free dvd player so you can watch any dvds you want! I got one for Christmas and it's really nice. Santa (lol) told me it wasn't even that expensive.

I think its great news because when there is a good piece of film with talented people and is hugely popular then it's fair to award it...I've seen Avatar...and I totally disagree with the nominations it's received for best Director and film etc. SFX maybe...so it's great when British talent is recognised (like Colin Firth) It sort of balances things out ...a little!! In the Loop In the Loop In the Loop In the Loop Colin Colin In the Loop In the Loop In The Loop In the Loop......

I totally agree marty. Dances with Wolves + Ferngully = Avatar. Not exactly best picture material.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to write an important thing. Although I've not got a region free DVD player, I can watch Britain DVD as well as I can do Japanese DVD with my PC. I don't know why, but Japanese DVD has the same region 2 with British ones. The difference between them is only PAL or NTSC, which I don't know much about, but using PC, the difference is no matter. (and with a particular free ware like Sasha said in another thread, I can watch region 1, American DVD as well.) So I've got the DVD "In The Loop" too and already seen it several times. But as I'm not good at English, I can't understand English in it well enough. Of course I've been learning English, but if it is released with Japanese subtitles, I'll be very happy! ;D

But as I'm not good at English, I can't understand English in it well enough. Ineko, I'm not very good in English also but I've watched ITL with English subtitles and I understood it very well. It was very easy - you just read in English everything that they say. Btw, it you need a file with English subtitles to ITL - just let me know, I can share it with you!

Great article Ange! And while we're also on the subject of scores, Clint Mansell for "Moon" was also robbed! Furthermore, Sam Rockwell in "Moon" was robbed! If you're a fan of sci-fi at all (seriously even a tiny bit) check out this awesome movie. Just my 2 cents. Though I see it's up against ITL for the Outstanding British Film bafta, so I might have a bit of a time figuring out where my loyalties lie with that one!

Thank you for your kind offer, Sasha. But I've got the DVD and it has English subtitles. I've already printed it out, I've not read it yet though. Because I'm reading the subtitles of Gracie! now. Hehe. (I really love this drama. ;D ) If I finish Gracie!, I'll try to read In The Loop!
