Tough news for Hollanderians: Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and United Artists announced today they are moving the release date of Bryan Singer’s World War II thriller VALKYRIE, starring Tom Cruise, to President’s Day Weekend February 13, 2009. “MGM is proud and excited to be presenting VALKYRIE, and because of that we want to give it the best launch possible,” said Clark Woods, President of Domestic Distribution of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios, which is distributing the movie domestically. “When an opening became available for President’s Day Weekend, we seized the opportunity. Having seen a lot of the film and how great it is going to play once it’s finished, moving into a big holiday weekend is the right move.” Read the complete press release here.

WHAT!?! That is despicable! Australians already had to wait long enough (in that our release date wasn't even mentions on the IMDB) and now we have to wait longer!
I'm probably going to be retired with seventeen grandchildren by the time Valkyrie hits our theatres!

I think they wanted to put more distance between it and the WWII film with Daniel Craig that comes out in the fall.
