Yes, I mean hesitation and a bit shyness ^^ Because I think it is a very atypical situation. Normally you meet a person when, for example, you attend a party. You have a casual talk and after a few minutes you can say, oh i like this person - or even not and it is ok. If you like this person you can call them. But when you meet a person like Tom, it is feeling how I say atypical. Even if you say you like him and he thinks, I like her/him - it does not matter. Rather it is mutually a bit sad. I hope it is understandable ^^
