I heard about this earlier today via the same source and have been feeling upset ever since. Since nothing else has come out from any other more reputable news sources other than the Daily Mail I am keeping a lid on it. Don't want to cause rumors to fly that might be unfounded. I went a little nutty when he cut his forehead and that ended up being a minor thing. As you can imagine I was and remain quite devastated by this and hope that he recovers soon. Apparently his stand-in guy is doing a pretty good job. If you can see this Tom, get better soon! xx

Hear! Hear! And what I especially am not appreciative of is the headline: "Hollander Elbowed Out." Talk about literally adding insult to someone's injury... tsk! tsk! Careful, Daily Mail!

Hi girls: I have read the news and I can tell by my knowledge of medicine that if Tom has a fractured elbow, will be a long recovery because the elbow is a fairly complicated joint to heal and sometimes surgery is needed bad enough that the bone is traversed by several titanium irons to avoid moving the joint. But this is an assumption that I do without seeing the fracture and the injury of Tom. But I can only say that it is very painful and he will need several months to recover and he can not work in the play.
:'(Cheers Mr. Hollander.

If there's any truth in this report hopefully Tom will have a speedy recovery.

Please let us not cause any rumors here. I don't want someone coming here and taking something out of context when all we have to go on is one stupid article from the Daily Mail (Fail as it is sometimes called).
I am hoping for the best. xx

Are only hypotheses, nothing more. I hope he gets well soon and I am sure that.

Hope he's ok =( Hi Rachael, I am sorry to tell you that he will probably not be on tomorrow. The latest news I have is directly from The Old Vic and they said that he has a doctor's evaluation on Monday and will know more then. The understudy's latest word said that he was covering for Tom at least until the 19th. Maybe you can exchange the tickets for a later date. I would certainly check if I were you. Believe me I understand your disappointment. We are flying over 5,000 miles at the end of February to see him and I will be very disappointed if he is still out. We have planned this trip months in advance. I don't blame anyone because accidents do happen. The good news though, is that his elbow is not fractured. Stay tuned and I will pass on any news I get here. Deb

Thanks,
Unfortunately I think it may be too late to exchange the tickets (plus we have already booked train tickets!)
Fingers crossed that Tom will be on today. I'll let you all know when I get back!

Good luck. It is so hard to know what is the most accurate news. My latest is directly from The Old Vic admin. so I believe them over news artlcles but who knows. Maybe they like to keep everyone guessing. You can always hang out by the stage door after because even though he might not be in it we are betting that he is there in some capacity keeping an eye on things. That is just a guess though. Hearing good things about the play anyway so you will have a great time I am sure. Deb xx

Unfortunately Tom wasn't back when I saw the play yesterday But the play was amazing, and the understudy is brilliant! John Marquez (who played Carlos Homenides de Histangua) was also really good! I'm hoping to book tickets to see the show again nearer the end of the run, when hopefully Tom will be back.

Glad you enjoyed it Rachael. Most people are saying that and as much as we all want to see Tom, I for one (and I am sure Tom too), am glad there is a good understudy so that the play can carry on while he heals. I hope you get to go again. I am really glad that we are going towards the end.
Thanks for reporting on it! We should know more by mid-week. Crossing fingers! Deb xx

I've just read on Greg Baldock's (the understudy's) facebook page that Tom is better, and will be back on stage soon.
Greg's status reads; 'is giving his last evening performance as Chandebise and Poche tonight. Tom Hollander is better. However I will still be covering the matinees this week. Enjoy!'
