"But in one of the finest scenes you'll ever see on television, Adams, America's first ambassador to the English court, has an audience with King George III, played by Tom Hollander (Pirates of the Caribbean's dastardly Cutler Beckett), the oppressive engine that pushed the Revolution. A plain fat man with difficulties scraping low, a foppish monarch who lost to the ragamuffins, both men loathe their positions in the meeting, but somehow soldier through for the benefit of both their constituencies." Jonathan Storm: 'John Adams,' show of stature (Philadelphia Inquirer - Sun., Mar. 16, 2008) www.philly.com/philly/entertainment/television/20080316_Jonathan_Storm__John_Adams__show_of_stature.html

You know that 'God Save The King' line really made me laugh...reminding me of another fan forum I used to be an avid poster on....eons ago... before I became disillusioned etc etc! From now on shall I make the supporting salute and shout 'God Save the King' whenever they show Tom Hollander in a white wig....I think if I did it I might draw attention to him....or is that to me..? ... 'God Save The King!'

Have you all seen the episode preview trailer for Part 4 on the Web site?! I'd just discovered it tonight when reading up on Part 3. They include a snippet of the meeting between John Adams and King George III! Go to www.hbo.com/films/johnadams/, click on Part 4 and just below the synopsis to the right there is a link titled "view episode preview." I apologize if this is old news but I had to share my joy!

YAY!...yes I just saw it tonight on TV. They played it at the end of the Part 3. Thanks for updating us here! Here's a cap... ADDED later... As much as I think those wigs are hideous and one has to wonder WHY did they wear them I have to say that LB's wig is quite beautiful in comparison. I am sure that the John Adams version is probably more accurate and less Disney-perfect.

That is great news! I still need to catch up on it. I got the DVD in the mail the other day and I am anxious to see if there are any good "making of" extras.

I don't know either...let's speculate on that... "Best Emotionally Charged Performance by a fine, British Actor that does not get nearly enough recognition." I wonder if he will be at the awards ceremony...probably not

Actually it is at the bottom, where it says Click here for the nominees list. It is in 2 parts. I counted 'em up and there ARE 23 but sadly, no Tom.

I can't tell you how many times I clicked that link when the page first came up. I think they either had the wrong link in there or they were biding their time whilst they got the lists up because it always took me to the Awards Central main news page. I forget that they are in such a hurry to be first with a bulletin that they don't wait to complete the job. I have sometimes found that if you go back to some pages a couple of hours later, some lovely photos have been added or something like that. I just didn't get the chance before!
