I feel an LA weekend coming on...Don and I are members of AFI. We saw The Libertine premiere there. Johnny Depp, John Malkovich, Samantha Morton and Laurence Dunmore were all there on stage talking about the movie. I wonder if Tom will be there? Thanks for finding this! We are going to go! I am so excited! Even if Tom is not there it will get to see The Soloist three weeks early! |

More info... DreamWorks Pictures and Universal Pictures' THE SOLOIST has been selected as the Festival's Opening Night Gala presentation. THE SOLOIST will have its World Premiere when it opens AFI FEST on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at ArcLight Hollywood's Cinerama Dome Theatre. The Opening Night Gala is presented by Audi of America. Well if he is I probably won't see him... as it turns out they are playing the film in two different venues that night. One is the big Cinerama Dome for a whopping ticket price of $125/ticket and the other at the regular ArcLight (where we saw The Libertine premiere) for $25/ticket. I will leave it up to you to figure out which one the stars will be hanging out at. Sadly we can't afford to spend $250 on the off chance that Tom MIGHT be there. We are still going but I have dashed hopes of seeing him even if he is there.  |

Kel xxx Even though I will get to see it at AFI I do hope it is not true. Remember one thing...IMDb is not always correct. I can't see them delaying it and ruining its Oscar contention. Yep...it's official. I'm going to be in a retirement village before I see Tom again in Tasmanian theatres. If this is true, us in old Australia will not see it till this time (if not later) next year.  |

I guess it IS official...3-13-09 is the release date. That definitely takes it out of Oscar consideration since they are on Feb 22.  On the good side The Soloist website has tons more stuff on it including a featurette. Clips are coming soon. Maybe Tommy will be in one of those.
