I am constantly perplexed when Tom is not listed in the promotion of films. I can understand it if it is a very small role but was Lord Beckett not one of the main villains in the last two POTC films? He had more screen time than Jonathan Pryce and even Jack Davenport in AWE ( sorry Erica). I know it is probably a contract thing and if for some reason he gets paid more if he is NOT listed then that is good for him...but to me it feels like he is being ignored. How bizarre is that! Certainly if Skarsgard, Davenport and Yun-Fat are listed, than so should he!

Well, Chow Yun Fat is a HUGE star ... with some consituencies. I suspect his casting was for EXACTLY that reason... he's mega-bankable.
T. is ...well-respected....which is another matter, entirely, in the current media universe. I wonder -- money-issues aside -- whether he doesn't like it better that way. Here's a guy who rides his bike to work: I'm pretty certain Chow can't quite do that if he wants to, or no.
I think from the fan's viewpoint, anyone in front of a camera seems to have a certain significance, but for a working actor, even well-paying gigs come with their pragmatic realities: unless you really, really feel like pushing hard for that billing, you're going to end up sixty-third from the bottom in the final credits. I think it's interesting that the main characters in these films stop short of naming anybody but the three protagonists, but it's all about marketing, as we know, not story. I have seen a poster featuring Nighy's Davy Jones character, but I suspect that had more to do with the Cool Factor of his appearance than his own bankability (which, career-wise, is about in T.'s league).
Tell ya what I've always thought was weird: was how long it's taken the manufacturers of film-related toys to come up with a Beckett figure. Apparently there's one out there --finally! -- on eBay right now, but it's so rare, I suspect it's nearly a toy-show prototype, and hardly available at your local Target store...!
I like to think of the little guy on top of T.'s computer, though -- don't you??

Aww, I took no offense...although I was quite pleased that Jack was mentioned on the poster...but it is lame that Tom gets no loving...
However, if you catch The Very Thought of You on Starz, then Tom is listed as a main star and Joseph Fienes is NOT...
