As always, you have come through for us! What a great gift for the New Year PE! Thank you so much. I do hope he is the lead...his name is listed first so it looks like that! Added after the amazing Dr. Content (aka Irene...aka Redwine) has located this from BBC press :Tom Hollander stars as the famed inventor of the world's first electronic musical instrument and Russian spy, Leon Theremin. Set in 1928, Melissa Murray's play is based on real events and tells the story of how Theremin was ordered to plant an electronic bug to obtain information from inside the American Embassy in London. Unwittingly helped by his lover, Theremin manages to smuggle a bug into the Ambassador's office. The Americans become aware that they have a leak and send for a communications expert from Washington. Theremin knows it is time to disappear, but starts to worry about how the Russians will react if his cover is blown. One of the most brilliant electronic engineers of his generation, Leon Theremin caused a stir with his electronic musical invention which was played via hand movements in the air, making a strange soprano sound. The play stars Tom Hollander as Leon Theremin and Trystan Gravelle as Will. Producer/Marc Beeby

I would have noticed it sooner if I had bothered to buy the Radio Times at the weekend. I have been very muddled this week.
I have watched Trystan grow from 'spear carrying' at the National. ;D

I have had a really busy day so I only caught about 20 minutes so far. I shall settle down to watch it in peace later on. Very strong accent made me smile at first. Great texture though.

Am I crazy or what? Even though I know I could listen later, I got up at 6:30 am (on a SATURDAY!!) to hear this. Don also recorded it for me. You are right though...great texture. I like the background sound effects too (the ducks in the park, the traffic, etc.) I like it! I think Tom did great with the Russian accent but we must wait to hear what Sasha thinks! He has some great lines too... Thanks for alerting us to this! Crossing fingers that there is another radio play on the horizon here. After all...he is hanging out right now, is he not?

Let’s start… I hope that everybody here knows an English word “cold” I can teach you at 1 second for Russian word “cold”…. It spells “ HOLLADNAH” If you can see you may to change letters “D” and “N” and you will get one famous surname… guess??? See – there is some weird connection between Tom and Russian language! ;D
