Chris Addison was on "Friday Night With Jonathan Ross" last night and mentioned Tom in an anecdote from when they were filming "In The Loop": They went to Washington and had to film something where they were in a motorcade going towards the Capitol building, with proper policemen & everything, and apparently whenever Dick Cheney goes anywhere it's in a motorcade, but they had to wait ages for these cops to turn up and when they finally did it was rush hour, so the cops stopped the traffic and they were going up and down past these cars for ages thinking that all the people were probably thinking "F*****g Dick Cheney!". Haha! Sounds like the filming is over though so hopefully it won't be too long before we see it! ;D Great story! I can't wait. I have been watching a bunch of Armando stuff (his show and The Thick of It) and I can't wait! Says 2009 everywhere though...what do they think we are? Patient? At least we have The Soloist this year.

In my constant and hungry quest for anything "In the Loop" I stumbled upon this. It is an interview with Armando Iannucchi and towards the end there is a brief mention of "In the Loop." Click!

Brilliant find!! Did you know he is hoping to show it at Sundance? I can't remember if that is old news or not No! I did not know that! Thanks....don't hesitate to tell us things like that...even if it is a reminder. You and faeriequeen are our "insiders" you know! Besides, my mind is like a sieve these days! Thanks! p.s. One thing I am wondering is if we (over here in the states that is) will get to see it as soon as you do.

And...I know you have booked some lovely theatre dates! Maybe you will be sitting next to Julian at TNC. Maybe Tommy will be there too! I keep thinking that something magical will happen and I will find myself in London for the Christmas holidays...

p.s. One thing I am wondering is if we (over here in the states that is) will get to see it as soon as you do. As far as I know, the current situation is that Optimum are confirmed as distributors here but nobody in the States has bought it yet. I think that might be one of the reasons they are hoping to be accepted at Sundance. Mr Iannucci is a workaholic as you can tell from that video link. He's very energetic and will make sure that the absolute optimum situation is made for his film. He is strongly principled and very intelligent. He'll do the right thing and as quickly as he can, I am sure but he'll also be pragmatic with the US release date. There is even a possibility that a Spring release here might mean the R2 DVD is out before the theatres get it in the States. Pure conjecture on my part, of course. I'm not sure you'd understand all the UK current affairs specific humour but he is halfway through his six part, weekly radio satire show on BBC Radio 4 - AI's Charm Offensive. Frankly, you can almost always find Armando on somewhere !!! ......uklelehip has also returned to the UK, as far as I know (unless she want back to the States again).

I have no problem ordering a R2 DVD if it means I will get to see it (over and over and over... sooner! I listened to some of that not too long ago and I was going to order the CDs but got side-tracked. I get most of it and I loved The Thick of It as well. Don doesn't always get why I am laughing my head off but that is OK. Thanks for the heads up on The Charm Offensive. I will check it out. I adore Armando ever since I got his The Armando Iannucchi Show DVDs. Yay! I have missed her! I was hoping she would have joined us in the birthday project but I never heard from her.

Have you looked to see if you can get the BBC podcasts each week? They may not be available to people outside the UK. This week was particularly funny.
