Ooooh there are two Westbound transatlantic crossings that coincide with the Broadway run! The first arrives on 17 MAY (M817), a Thursday, and the second arrives 10 JUNE (M820B), a Sunday. The next one after that is cutting it a bit fine as it arrives on 1 July and I think the production is closed by then. The numbers in brackets are to help me later when / if I come to book one of them! I think I'd rather arrive on a Thursday so May is looking good, but I'd also rather arrive in June so there's that too. Hmm. Also May is cheaper, and possibly a bit cooler. Seven nights at sea, followed by a play I now know really well starring Tom. That's like the best holiday evs. This is where the theatre, sorry theater, is www.google.co.uk/maps/place/American+Airlines+Theatre/@40.7567628,-73.9903586,17z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x89c25854a3f7ac6f:0xbbd1bceba3578e4!8m2!3d40.7567628!4d-73.9881699 Jo

lintu public tickets are not on sale yet, sign up to hear when they are. Theatre members / donors get priority booking though, more info here (text copied below but is unhyperlinked as it only copies text). My only experience of US ticket-buying comes from watching the (excellent) sitcom Frasier which suggests that it's fraught with all sorts of comedic problems that I hope to avoid haha. The website that was used for the Apollo run ( www.travestiesplay.com/) and Twitter ( twitter.com/travestiesplay) could certainly be used again, perhaps these will be handed over to the US team to manage. At the moment the 'Book now' link on that website is pointing to Nimax theatres in the UK and not the US one. Perhaps nearer the time... Recommended hashtag is #TravestiesPlay. #Travesties is already in use and is a bit NSFW (not safe for work).

There's more detail about the film and the Opening Night gala premiere on 4 October in London here www.bfi.org.uk/news-opinion/news-bfi/announcements/breathe-andy-serkis-61st-london-film-festival. The film will also be screened at other cinemas in the UK at the same time and then go into general UK and Ireland release on 27 October. As far as I'm aware it will be possible for the public to buy tickets to the premiere, though the tickets are made available to BFI members first... There's bound to be a competition to win a pair of tickets too, so I'll add that here if I find out about anything. Jo

So happy about this, so well-deserved. Tom Hollander won the BAFTA TV Award for Best Supporting Actor in The Night Manager and, as usual, Twitter has exulted in his achievement(s). Also as usual I hope he gets to see some of the lovely comments there. You can see his thoughtful acceptance speech (he thanks the casting director too, which is a nice touch) and there's a fun post-win interview where he talks a bit more about the role in the YouTube video below. If you're reading Tom... Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyy :DD Congratulations. Also there's a week left to listen to Far Side of the Moore which is an utterly lovely radio play about the origins of the TV programme The Sky At Night. Tom plays Sir Patrick Moore as a younger man and his impression of him (not sure that's quite the right word) is absolutely spot on www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b05nt1vbJo

BBC One, 9-10am, The Andrew Marr Show - there's a pre-recorded segment with Tom talking about Travesties which has just opened (to enthusiastic reviews, of course, it's utterly fantastic). Don't know if there's a separate in-studio interview as well. The programme will be repeated at 7pm on BBC Parliament. Next Saturday (25th) the Graham Norton Show on BBC Radio 2 (10am onwards) will have both Tom and Griff Rhys Jones on as guests. I don't know if they're there independently or will be talking about the recently released DVD of A Poet In New York, I think Griff was a producer on that. Given that Tom Hiddleston was on Norton's show recently, talking about 'the jellyfish incident' I suspect that might come up as well... Hat tip to Ale Smallbone for the info about the Graham Norton show. Jo

I've ordered a copy from Amazon of the soon-to-be-released DVD of 'A Poet in New York' which comes out on 6 Feb 2017. The clips I've seen on YouTube / heard in interviews etc look/sound great and I can't believe I completely missed hearing about this at the time, better late than never eh. This is a UK and associated regions DVD so beware if you're elsewhere (you can usually change your device's DVD-location settings but it can be fiddly). No news that I can see on DVDs for other regions. I heard about it thanks to this tweet. Janice Forsyth interviewed Tom in May 2014 on her show about the drama. It seems like it was a fun interview and he mentioned that he studied poetry at uni (I have to say I've never been much of a fan of poetry in general, always found it a bit irritating!). Also this is a short video clip of Tom describing the time he let Aisling Walsh (the director of A Poet in New York) hear his Dylan Thomas voice for the first time. She liked it, no surprise there! Thanks Lintu - it was nice, but a bit odd (my dad died in November) so I escaped and went to stay with friends. Best present definitely the comedy slippers shaped like rabbits they gave me which are now keeping my feet warm

Next Tuesday (13th Dec) Alexander (Xander) Armstrong and Tom Hollander will be taking part in an event at St Margaret's Church, Westminster, for the Hands Up Foundation as part of the Singing for Syrians campaign. They'll be singing / whistling We're Walking In The Air and of course the event is entirely sold out now (booo, hisss) and I only heard about it yesterday. More info here www.theguardian.com/music/2016/dec/09/singing-for-syria-hands-up-foundation-carol-singing-charity, tickets (sold out) here billetto.co.uk/en/events/singing-for-syrians-2016, see also teamxander.blogspot.co.uk/2016/12/walking-in-air-for-refugees.htmlIn unrelated news I've created a Twitter feed ( @team_Hollander) and someone else (I won't say who it is in case they want to maintain an air of mystery) has created an accompanying Instagram feed ( team_hollander) and we are pinging out 'content'. As Tom doesn't seem to have a social media presence (that we know of, at least not one that's publicly identifiable as him) we thought we'd make sure that information is updated and curated. Hopefully he and his people don't mind [Edit] <-- ugh this awful smiley [I typed in : followed by ) and on publishing the post it converts it into this mocking laughter] that makes my comments look sarcastic when they're not :-þ Both accounts are just a couple of weeks old so a bit unimpressive at the moment in terms of follower numbers but hopefully that will increase. So come and say 'hi'! Jo

Hi Lintu - sorry to worry you We can't access your Twitter account from the link you gave so no security risk that I'm aware of. Whenever someone shares a linkis link the page loads and then a few seconds later it popups with an opportunity to connect your Twitter account. If you authorise it then whenever you share a link from Twitter the app adds a linkis link to it so that the popup appears when others view the page, and so on and so on. It's harmless but annoying spam and not damaging (as far as I'm aware). But we can't know your login details so all is well, hurrah! Jo

Well that was good fun and he seemed to slot right in with the regulars so I hope he'll come back and do more of them. I've got a really bad cough at the moment so it was quite painful to laugh! Interestingly he's polarised people on Twitter a bit with some thinking he's 'brilliant' at presenting HIGNFY and others thinking he's 'awful'. Mind you people are equally polarised towards the other guests too. Lintu's link is correct, but I'd be careful with the linkis dot com site as it's quite spammy. If you're watching on that one don't give it your Twitter login authorisation. Instead I'd recommend using this link www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwvAhe8_jSUThere should be a longer edition broadcast on Monday at 11.15pm (Have I Got A Bit More News For You) so I hope that makes it on to YouTube too. lintu - I'm not sure if the programme has a theme (other than 'what's in the news this week' and lots about politics) to be honest. I've watched a lot of them and not picked that up... It's very topical but also picks out the sillier news stories of the preceding week. Ale Smallbone - I don't know much about watchability outside of the UK. Are you able to watch previous episodes? My only other suggestion would be to investigate VPNs (Virtual Private Network) which hides your location from websites. Not sure about the legality or morality of that though... Jo

Every episode of the long-running political comedy panel show is hosted by a different guest presenter and this week it will be Tom Hollander! The show will be recorded the night before (Thu 1 Dec) but I've checked and it's totally sold out so I don't think I'll get to see that. I'll have to watch the broadcast on catch-up as I'm out on Friday night anyway. Bother ;) 9pm, BBC One, Friday 2nd DecemberIt'll be on catch-up here - www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b084kwdxLate on Monday evenings there's usually a 'Have I Got A Bit More News For You' which is a slightly longer version of the programme. Generally an hours' worth of material is recorded but edited into half an hour - sometimes the editing is also to remove libellous stuff! The longer programme is 45 minutes. The programme's hashtag on Twitter is #HIGNFY. Really looking forward to this! Tom will be a fantastic presenter - he strikes me as someone who has the right combination of intelligence, wit, sense of the ridiculous and sarcasm for this show :D Jo
