Make that Craig Raine. A bit too much New Year's joy here. Craig. He just seems like he should be a Claude.

Oh yes, too much turkey for Thanksgiving will do that to you. Not that I ...ahem, would know from experience.

Hi, Poppy!
Isabella is right --it's been quiet. Probably pre-holiday busy-ness (or post-holiday, turkey-induced tryptophan coma?).
Greetings and welcome to you and your niece!

Holy crumbs, Deb! I just realized the American actress is Unikitty. Surely I am not the only one impressed by this. I'm certain Doctor Thorne will be wonderful. Tom Hollander. Julian Fellowes. Lovely, lovely. *Awestruck whisper* Unikitty.

Postscript: I preferred the Patrick Moore play, but TH's character was good for a laugh in this one. It'll be good for the plane. Enjoy, Deb!

Hey, Deb. I'll be listening to it shortly. It's going to be hard to top the Patrick Moore piece. Tangent: Radio plays are magnificent --better than TV!

BBC coverage on the grand reopening after major renovations: www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-oxfordshire-29214946 . I'm not seeing a hyperlink, so we'll see if this works. If not, help me out, Deb ...? Congratulations to the staff and to the families they serve!

I love that period in history! All of that craziness about tying wealth to a crop that you can't even eat, all because it's beautiful. Plus Amsterdam. Plus period costumes. Should be fun! Of course, I haven't read the book yet -must add that to the list ...

I didn't realize that Mr. Hollander supported this charity! I work with children and young adults with significant physical and cognitive challenges and their families, and respite and hospice care is necessary for the well-being of all involved. Well done! If you haven't checked out this charity, it's a good one.

Thank you for your kind greetings! I knew it was a good idea to stop in when I was surfing by the other night. And thank you for the tip about thomagination. I do love to read and it seems to be full of information. The amount of effort you have put into this site and that one --really extraordinary. Particularly in the throes of summer (for example, I couldn't check for replies over the past couple of days because I was busy hiking up a mountain!). Hopefully Mr. Hollander is appreciative of your efforts because you seem like very nice, hardworking ladies. I'm sure he is.
His birthday is coming? I love birthdays! Anything that celebrates one more year of being alive and gives others a reason to treat you nicely and make you feel special is a great thing. I'd love to add a message, but I'm afraid I don't know how to PM (I assume that's 'private message' and not 'prime minister' or 'post meridian'!).
