........end of Jan? Ooops, should have had my eyes peeled.
.....directed by the guy who did some of the Little Dorrit episodes, by the way. He likes History Boys, it seems ;D

The quote that had first introduced me to him two years ago had appeared on the first page of a book I was reading... "Therefore, when we build, let us think that we build for ever. Let it not be for present delight, nor for present use alone; let it be such work as our descendants will thank us for, and let us think, as we lay stone on stone, that a time is to come when those stones will be held sacred because our hands have touched them, and that men will say as they look upon the labor and wrought substance of them, 'See! this our fathers did for us.' for indeed, the greatest glory of a building is not in its stones, or in its gold. Its glory is in its Age." I have heard this quote before - have there been any other films about Ruskin ? It's so familliar!

I just got a GoogleAlert on this...good news as I was under the impression that we had to wait for fall: Desperate RomanticsThe pre-Raphaelites revelled in unloosening the strait-lacings of Victorian morality, and their complicated men-behaving-badly indulgences are likely to lend themselves perfectly to television drama. With Rafe Spall and Tom Hollander (BBC2, July). This is according to Times Online

It's in July now? That's fabulous news - so glad we don't have to wait until the Autumn to see it as was originally thought. I'm such a sucker for the period pieces.
Summer telly in the UK is lining up brilliantly at the moment ;D

Yay! Summer theatre is also looking awesome at the moment too...now we just need Tom to be in something and it'd be perfect.

It'll surely be on PBS and/or BBCA and/or Ovation...sounds right up Ovation's alley actually...they're the ones that showed Lost in Austen over here.

I feel bad that I didn't come here sooner with this but there is a special big screen presentation of this on 14th July at the BFI. Now, as a rule, I am a real sucker for tv on the big screen but I'm feeling so poor at the moment & there are loads of seats left so I might decide nearer the time. It's quite early in the day too so in the unlikely even that I actually get some work, I would miss it. www.bfi.org.uk/whatson/desperate_romantics
