Have you guys seen these before? There are some more, including some of Tom's behind as he lays on the ground setting up the self-timer!

Irene and I have seen those two poses and in fact often use those images as Bill and Tom as our avatars in iChat. So...are you telling us that those were taken by Tom's camera on auto-timer? More importantly though, is HOW did you find this out???

I think so, topaz -- something about the quality of the LIGHT.. just says bright, warm Southern CA! Our Beckettologist is right, I love it!!!! I have a very soft spot for Mr. Nighy, particularly his lovely Voice. If I thought I could get away with it, I would cheerfully hijack this thread to wax rhapsodic about this fellow Nighy. Here's another image taken from one of those long walks along a red carpet. Who gravitates together? If I had to be washed up permanently on the shore of a deserted island, I would ask for just one thing (in addition to a lifetime supply of semi-sweet chocolate): that would be the recording of Mr. Nighy reading C.P. Cavafy's poem "To Ithaka". And just cos I like you, here's a link so you can hear it too. As Miranda Sawyer put it,"...close your eyes and just breathe in that voice - it’s the aural equivalent of eating dark chocolate truffles dipped in whipped cream..." Any other Bill fans here??

Irene, I see your To Ithaka and raise you an Ode to a Beautiful Nude read by Rufus Sewell... And if you like that, you should really try Nick Silver Can't Sleep. This is only a short clip, the whole thing is about 30 mins and unbe-f*cking-lievable. Don't listen to it whilst driving...

Don't listen to it whilst driving... Wow. Is it a book? Part of a book? I have not heard of it. But then I tend to have a narrow focus these days.... I wish Tom would read something like that. I wonder if he is narrating a book this year. He has been pretty consistently doing one a year, SEE hereI can't stand the suspense of what might be next!

Don't listen to it whilst driving... Wow. Is it a book? Part of a book? I have not heard of it. It's a radio play! About plants, believe it or not. Listening to it makes me feel dizzy... www.nicksilvercantsleep.org.uk/home.php

Thanks Uke. I will check it out at home tonight...after I distract his lordship with some tea... I hope he won't be jealous. Hehe.BTW...I also checked out your OTHER videos. I will have to go exploring. I didn't realize that it was you that posted the little snippet of the reading for Bleak Expectations. Too bad he didn't do the show. Any clue as to why? Certainly not due to lack of talent...perhaps a scheduling problem... Also...Irene and I talked about having an area for Tom's co-stars. It is apparent that most of us here have a thing for them... Bill...Jack...Johnny...Rufus ...so perhaps we need an official area for that. What say you to that?

You'll have to forgive this novice but is the saluting thing a long standing joke with Tom?
I ask because for no accountable reason, back in 2005 I snatched two nano seconds with him and found myself saluting him. I have no idea why I did it but now I am wondering if it was subliminal......if I'd seen a picture or read about an ongoing gag. It wasn't a big salute, just a raising of the semi-flattened hand to the side of my head and I have always been puzzled and embarrassed when I think about it. Did he think I was doing some geeky fan thing?

Did he think I was doing some geeky fan thing? I don't know if it is or not. Let's ask him next time we see him. (Note the positive thinking there). Did he act weird or confused when you saluted him? You should share your tale of meeting in the Have you met him? thread. Wasn't it at the 24 Hour Plays?
